Marette Farrell

Marette Farrell grew up on her parents’ stud farm in Ireland. She pinhooked two-year-olds to help pay for college where she earned a B.A. in Physical Education and English. She played on the Irish Field Hockey team and by the age of twenty-four was coaching the Munster provincial U16 field hockey team. Preferring a life with horses, she proceeded to work for racehorse trainers in Dubai, France, and the U.S. After a stint as racing manager for trainer Gai Waterhouse in Australia she formed her own bloodstock agency in 2008. She works in an advisory capacity for long-term clients, who rely on her to assist with their matings and assess their weanlings and yearlings, along with mare purchases. She has helped purchase and mate the dam of Belmont Stakes winner Creator amongst other graded stake winners and has also recommended the purchase of 2019 G1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile winner Storm the Court along with many other Grade I winners. She is proud to give back by mentoring many young people in the business who spend time with her and her team at the sales and is a big supporter of various Thoroughbred retirement programs.
