Liam O’Rourke

Liam, originally from Toronto, Ontario was introduced to horse racing at an early age making trips to Woodbine with his grandfather. He developed a keen interest in racing and began working at the racetrack during his high school years. While attending Bishop’s University in Lennoxville, Quebec Liam travelled to Lexington to intern with Juddmonte Farms and Hill ’n’ Dale Farms.

Upon completing his degree in Finance, Liam returned to the racetrack to work for leading trainer Brian Lynch at Woodbine. Liam went on to attend the Irish National Stud Course in 2008 where he won first prize in the pedigree research project. Liam remained at the INS after the course to prepare yearlings and work the major sales in Ireland and England.

Returning to North America, Liam went back to Woodbine to work in the Racing Office as an Entry Clerk for two seasons and then transitioned into bloodstock working in nominations at Adena Springs Canada for four years.

Liam joined WinStar Farm in 2016 and moved into his role as Director of Bloodstock Services in 2020. Liam has been an active participant on WinStar’s donations committee which manages an annual budget for charitable contributions. Liam is active in the community as a member on the coaching staff of the Lexington Thoroughbreds Varsity hockey team and is a member of The Jockey Club of Canada.
