Andy Hils is banking professional with 25 years of commercial lending experience primarily in the equine industry, agricultural industry, as well as commercial real estate and the manufacturing sectors. He started the equine lending division at a previous regional bank which underwrote and approved the initial capital infusion that helped start the NTRA.
Andy has been in and out of various racing syndications over the years, Thoroughbred and Standardbred, and currently serves on the Finance Committee at the Thoroughbred Club of America. He is a member of TOBA and currently serves on the REACH board (Resources Education and Assistance for Community Housing). Past Board and Committee memberships have included, LexArts (Industry Division Chair), Kentucky Fish & Wildlife Foundation (Chair), Shriners Hospital (Corporate Council), Markey Cancer Foundation Celebrity Celebration Committee, United Way (Industry Division Chair), American Diabetes Association, Lexington (Chair), and various others.
Andy is from Edgewood, KY. He graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1984 with a Journalism/Marketing degree. His wife, Kim, also graduated from UK, while playing on the volleyball team, with a PE/Health degree. They moved to Lexington full time in 1991. They have been married 36 years and have two children, Madison and Zachary. Maddie recently graduated from the University of Mississippi. Zach is a sophomore at the University of Georgia where he is also an All American on the UGA swim team.
