We are proud to highlight Win Place Home, a 2025 TCA grant recipient.
Win Place Home, Inc. is a California-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to helping former racehorses transition smoothly into life after racing. Located in Canyon Country, just north of Santa Anita, the organization provides a quiet, structured environment where Thoroughbreds can decompress, rebuild trust, and prepare for new careers.
Through hands-on rehabilitation and retraining, Win Place Home focuses on repurposing off-track Thoroughbreds for a variety of disciplines. Their program challenges common misconceptions about retired racehorses and demonstrates how proper training and care allow these horses to thrive in new roles.
An important part of Win Place Home’s mission is accessibility. Adopters are not required to have prior experience with off-track Thoroughbreds. By combining knowledge of racing with experience across other disciplines, the team ensures each horse is prepared to succeed with a wide range of owners.
Thoroughbred Charities of America thanks Win Place Home for their continued impact in advancing our mission, particularly through their work supporting Thoroughbreds through retirement, retraining, and rehoming.
