Each year, TCA is proud to award one, $1,000 scholarships to a qualified IT and telecommunications college student. The scholarships are given through the American River College Foundation. The winner also receives a one-year student membership to TCA.

The American River College Scholarship Foundation is a non-profit organization. TCA provides the money to the Foundation, and the Foundation handles the applications and selection process. The Foundation accepts applications online from January through March. The winner is notified by mail in April; an awards banquet is held in early May; and the check is actually dispersed in early August to the student, unless the student is transferring to a 4 year university, and then the check is sent directly to that school.

To Qualify
To qualify, students must be entering their second year of college education, and be working toward a degree or certificate in Information Technology (IT) or telecommunications. Applicants answer a series of questions, including:

1. Explain your educational background and goals.

2. Describe the campus and community activities in which you are
involved.

3. Describe how you are financing your college education and
how this scholarship will assist you?

TCA specifies that if they have a business or other major, they must be completing a technical certificate or four-year degree and pursuing a career in telecommunications or IT. Applicants must have at least one letter of recommendation.
