TCA Select Stallion Season Auction Set for January 5

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The 23rd annual Thoroughbred Charities of America Select Stallion Season Auction, will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at the Keeneland Entertainment Center in Lexington, Ky. The cocktail party-style event will begin at 6:30 p.m. with hors d’oeuvres and dinner followed by the Select Season Auction at 8:15 p.m. The auction will feature seasons to 21 stallions:

All seasons are no guarantee unless indicated as live foal. Stallions marked with an “*” indicate a free return to the stallion in 2014 should the mare not get in foal or not produce a live foal.

In addition to the stallion seasons, other auction items will include a weekend stay in the WinStar Farm guest house; a Triple Crown ticket package; a sports package featuring tickets to the Breeders’ Cup, a NASCAR Nationwide Series Race, Keeneland and the Indianapolis 500; winner’s choice of select John Deere equipment; two Los Cabos vacations; a New York City getaway; and an African safari. Bidding on non-season items is available until Friday on www.biddingforgood.com/tcaauction. The Select Stallion Season Auction will also feature a Diamond Champagne Raffle sponsored by Shelia Bayes Fine Jewelers and a silent auction.

The Belmont Child Care Association will be honored with the TCA Industry Service Award and Frank Stronach will be honored with the TCA Leadership Award.

The Select Stallion Season Auction will be preceded by a telephone auction to be held Thursday, January 3 through Friday, January 4 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. EST. The majority of TCA’s seasons will be sold during the telephone auction with the select seasons going into the live auction on January 5. The telephone auction hotline is (859) 276-4989. TCA was formed in 1990 to raise and distribute funds for charities in the Thoroughbred industry which provide a better life for Thoroughbreds both during and after their racing careers by supporting retirement, rescue and research and by helping the people who work with them. TCA is the charitable arm of the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association (TOBA).
