TCA Names Arvin, Lynch and Willmott to Board of Directors

LEXINGTON, KY. — Thoroughbred Charities of America (TCA) announced today the appointment of Shannon Arvin, Braxton Lynch and Peter Willmott to its Board of Directors. They will serve three-year terms as new members.

We are very happy to welcome Peter Willmott, Braxton Lynch and Shannon Arvin to
Thoroughbred Charities of America. New perspectives and ideas keep organizations vibrant and I look forward to working with each of them,” said Dan Rosenberg president of TCA.

Arvin is an attorney at the firm of Stoll Keenon Ogden in Lexington, Ky. Her practice is focused on business services, particularly in the equine industry, and trusts and estates. A graduate of the University Kentucky College of Law, she also serves on the Board of Directors of Hospice of the Bluegrass, Salvation Army of Lexington and Thoroughbred Club of America.

A former Director of Sales at Three Chimneys Farm, Lynch now owns and operates Royal Oak Farm in Paris, Ky. with her husband, Damian. Royal Oak has raised or sold stakes winners including Union Rags, Boys at Tosconova, Nereid and Ready to Please. Lynch’s grandparents, Harry and Jane Lunger, owned the successful Christiana Stables which she and her mother continue to operate today.

Willmott, the former President and COO of Federal Express Corporation, now focuses on the management of his racing stable, Willmott Stables, Inc. He has been directly involved in the Thoroughbred business for over 15 years, racing primarily in Kentucky, New York and Florida. Mr. Willmott currently serves as the Chairman of the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association.

Arvin, Lynch and Willmott join current board members Amy Adkins, Jimmy Bell, Gary Biszantz, Gretchen Jackson, Michael Levy, Bob Manfuso, Pope McLean, Jr., Ellen Moelis, Herb Moelis, Dr. Jim Orsini, Dr. Scott Palmer, Josh Pons, Dan Rosenberg and Rob Whiteley.

TCA initiated its annual fundraiser, the TCA Stallion Season Auction, 22 years ago to raise and distribute funds for charities in the Thoroughbred industry which provide a better life for Thoroughbreds both during and after their racing careers by supporting retirement, rescue, research and by helping the people who work with them. To date, over $18 million has been distributed to approximately 200 equine charities who dedicate themselves to providing a better life for horses and the people who care for them on a daily basis. TCA is the charitable arm of the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association (TOBA).
